چکیده

Ubiquity is a trend and vision of modern computer science. Planting physics-based deformable object simulation, which provides realism to animation and medical simulation, into ubiquitous computing environments will make a step forward to envisioned realism in the ubiquity of computation. The essential components of embedding physics-based deformable simulation to ubiquitous computational environments are adaptive simulation paradigm and data driven simulation techniques. In this paper we examine the feasibility of physics-based deformable object simulation in ubiquitous computing environments and present the possible applications of ubiquitous deformable object simula-

Analytical Study of Object Components for Distributed and Ubiquitous Computing Environment

The Distributed object computing is a paradigm that allows objects to be distributed across a heterogeneous network, and allows each of the components to interoperate as a unified whole. A new generation of distributed applications, such as telemedicine and e-commerce applications, are being deployed in heterogeneous and ubiquitous computing environments. The objective of this paper is to explo...

Animation, Simulation, and Control of Soft Characters using Layered Representations and Simplified Physics-based Methods

Nico Galoppo: Animation, Simulation, and Control of Soft Characters using Layered Representations and Simplified Physics-based Methods. (Under the direction of Ming C. Lin.) Realistic behavior of computer generated characters is key to bringing virtual environments, computer games, and other interactive applications to life. The plausibility of a virtual scene is strongly influenced by the way ...

Interactive cutting of finite elements based deformable objects in virtual environments

There is a wide range of virtual reality (VR) applications that benefit from physically based modeling, such as assembly simulation, robotics, training and teaching (e.g., medical, military, sports) and entertainment. The dynamics of rigid bodies is well understood and several open source as well as commercial physics engines supporting articulated rigid bodies and particle systems are availabl...

A Lightweight Middleware Protocol for Ad Hoc Distributed Object Computing in Ubiquitous Computing Environments

Devices in ubiquitous computing environments are usually embedded, wearable, and handheld, have resource constraints, and are all connected to each other through wireless connections and other computers possibly through fixed network infrastructures, such as the Internet. These devices may form numerous webs of short-range and often low-power mobile ad hoc networks to exchange information. Dist...

Online multiple people tracking-by-detection in crowded scenes

Multiple people detection and tracking is a challenging task in real-world crowded scenes. In this paper, we have presented an online multiple people tracking-by-detection approach with a single camera. We have detected objects with deformable part models and a visual background extractor. In the tracking phase we have used a combination of support vector machine (SVM) person-specific classifie...
